Creating an image poll

When pictures make the question clearer, how to upload them, and what to keep consistent across options.

When images help

Image polls answer “which one” questions: designs, logos, venues, dishes, looks. They are worse than text for abstract choices, because every option then needs a picture that may not exist.

Uploading an option image

Switch Content Mode to Image Mode, then upload a JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP file of up to 5 MB per option, or paste an image URL. Uploaded files are served from this site; linked files stay on whatever host you point at, so a link that disappears takes the option picture with it.

Keep the set consistent

Options are read as a set. Use pictures with the same orientation and roughly the same brightness, and keep option titles short — in most image templates the title sits under the picture and a long one wraps awkwardly on a phone.

Images with each template

The same nine template names produce different image layouts: Card stacks each picture in its own frame, Split puts pictures in a column, Compact shrinks them into a dense grid. Preview before publishing, and check one option on a phone.

Rules and results

Image polls support single choice, multiple choice, result visibility and deadlines in exactly the same way as text polls. The “Other” write-in option is text-mode only, and exports list image options by their titles rather than embedding the pictures.
