Embedding a poll in your own page

The iframe snippet, how to size it, and what happens to voting and results inside the frame.

What embedding does

Embedding puts the poll inside an iframe on your page. Voters stay on your site, the poll keeps its own template, and the frame handles both voting and the results view.

Getting the snippet

Open the poll and scroll to the share panel; the embed field holds an iframe pointing at /poll/{slug}/embed with width set to 100% and height 480. If there is no embed field, embedding is turned off for that poll — switch on “Allow embedding” in the editor and it appears.

Sizing the frame

480 pixels fits a question with three or four text options and the submit button. Longer lists or image options need more height — try 600 to 700 and check on a phone, where only the 100% width is reliable.

Voting and results inside the frame

After a vote the frame switches to the results view on its own, if results are visible. Cross-site cookies are frequently blocked, so the embed remembers your vote in the browser’s local storage instead; clearing site data makes that browser able to vote again.

Limits to know about

Embedding does not bypass the poll rules: deadlines, vote limits and result visibility all still apply. Some page builders strip iframes from their editor — switch the block to raw HTML, or fall back to the plain link.
