Troubleshooting
Why a poll got no votes, and how to fix it
Silence is rarely a comment on your question. Here are the usual causes, roughly in order of frequency.
Nobody saw it
A link posted once, in a channel people scroll past, is not distribution. Post again at a different time of day with a sentence of context, and put the deadline in the message.
The poll was not open
A scheduled poll that has not started, or one whose end date has already passed, shows a closed state. Check the start and end times in the editor — the most common mistake is a time set in the past.
The link broke on the way
Chat apps wrap and shorten links, and one lost character is enough to cost a vote. Copy the link again from the poll page, or use the QR code when the audience is next to the screen.
It asked for too much
Every extra field reduces completion: sign-in, a long description, twelve options, a ranking task. Cut it down to one decision and two to five options, then see whether the numbers move.
It was private by accident
Private polls do not appear in Discover or in public lists — only people with the link can vote. That is the right setting for a sensitive decision and the wrong one for a company-wide vote.
Still nothing?
If votes are genuinely impossible, the poll can be edited, duplicated and reopened. The mechanics are in the FAQ, and you can contact us with the poll link if something looks broken.
